Within the scope of the Technical Assistance for Strengthening the National Capacity of Climate Finance Project, the first Steering Committee Meeting was held on 2 June 2026, following the Project Opening Ceremony.
The meeting was attended by Göktuğ KARA, representing the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye; Contract Manager Damla BAYKAL; Özgür ÖKMEN, representative of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the Directorate for EU Affairs; Mürsel AKBULUT, Head of the Department of Climate Finance and Incentives, and the project implementation team on behalf of the beneficiary institution, the Directorate of Climate Change; Project Manager Pawel SUSNIAK and Team Leader Zsolt LENGYEL on behalf of the consortium leader NIRAS; and Kubilay KAVAK, Project Strategic Advisor and General Manager of Escarus, together with the project technical assistance team on behalf of consortium partner.
During the meeting, the activities carried out since the start of the project, the key findings obtained during the inception phase, and the activities planned for the June–September 2026 period were discussed.
Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening national capacity in the field of climate finance in Türkiye and shared their views on continuing project activities through strong cooperation and coordination.
